Before meeting
Take time to get to know someone in the app. Look for consistency between their profile, conversation, and intentions.
- Keep early conversations inside Freely.
- Never send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, financial information, passwords, or verification codes.
- Use your own transportation and choose a public place.
- Tell a trusted person where you are going and when you expect to return.
During the date
- Stay in control of your transportation, phone, belongings, food, and drinks.
- Respect boundaries and require the same in return.
- Leave at any time if something feels wrong—you do not owe anyone an explanation.
- Call local emergency services if you or someone else is in immediate danger.
Online safety
Be cautious when someone pressures you to leave the app quickly, refuses reasonable verification, tells inconsistent stories, or creates an urgent financial crisis.
Block and report suspicious or abusive behavior using the tools in the app or by emailing safety@freelydating.com.
Consent and boundaries
Consent must be informed, voluntary, specific, enthusiastic, and ongoing. It can be withdrawn at any time. A match, message, relationship label, or previous encounter never implies consent.
